Summary of Events so Far

I noticed you guys are confused on the story so below is a summary and analysis of what has happened so far. The main 4 characters are Ellen who is the missing boy, Lai the male lead and fake boy, Hector the sexy azz blonde prince, and Edwin who is brothers with Ellen (black haired seme looking guy). Lmk if you guys are still confused after reading this.

CH 1: Edwin offers Lai the job of pretending to be Ellen. Lai accepts because he needs to pay his debt.

CH 2: It is implied that Edwin gave Ellen to the crown prince Hector as a gift (? a plaything maybe) Edwin mentions that Ellen and Hector are rumored to be lovers. Since Ellen has disappeared, Edwin needs a replacement so he uses Lai. Lai asks: "If they are lovers, wouldn't Hector notice?" Edwin responds: "Don't worry". (Wouldn't Hector notice Lai is not really Ellen??)

CH 3: Lai is being bullied by the other knight members and gets hit by a pot. We now learn that Ellen was treated as an outcast. It is implied that Ellen may have disappeared because of this. Hector then comes to help Lai and asks him an important question: "Why did you not dodge the pot?". (Bc Ellen has good reflects skills since he is a knight!)

CH 4: Hector thinks Lai may have gotten hurt on purpose so Edwin could dismantle the Knight Order. Lai says it was not his intention. Hector asks (playfully) what Lai is scheming by acting so vulnerable (bc he got hurt). Hector starts touching Lai. Lai acts shocked then Hector says "It's not like you're unfamiliar with what comes next". (Meaning Ellen and Hector had sex before). Then they have sex.

Lai reports to Edwin about the bullying going on in the Knight Order. Edwin says don't take on tasks you can't handle, as in ignore the bullying.

CH 5: Edwin tells Lai that the prince will get ambushed today. Then Hector comes and tells Lai to come escort him (Hector on a horse, while Lai is walking). Hector notices that Lai is sweating so he picks Lai up and puts him on the horse and they both ride on it together. (This is like an act lovers would do ?).

CH 6: We learn that Edwin told Lai to protect the prince when telling him the prince will get ambushed today. Right now both Lai and Hector are in some pretty scenery by a lake and greenery. Hector says something important to Lai: "Nonetheless, you pretend like I'm a stranger when there's someone nearby. I might go crazy if I didn't do at least this". (Meaning spending time intimately together alone) Now Lai learns and confirms by this that Hector really liked Ellen a lot. As Lai and Hector kiss, Lai is cursing Edwin in his mind because it turns out that Ellen and Hector were deeply in love. So Lai is screwed right now because he is the fake boy! Also the last line Lai thinks "But why is my heart pounding so fast". This can mean Lai might be starting to like Hector.

CH 7: Lai is mad at Edwin for lying about the assassination attempt. "Edwin says he prefers a well behaved dog But it turns out the dog has a conscience and is more human than dog". This means Lai is not someone who simply follows orders, but questions them too.

Edwin tells Lai to search Ellen's room to find any clues to Ellen's disappearance, of course Lai does not find anything.

Lai asks Edwin what the real reason is for Lai to pretend to be Ellen instead of just saying Ellen died. Edwin doesn't give a clear answer, but it is stated that it has to do with the crown prince.(So perhaps, Edwin wants to use Lai to observe/find information about Hector ) Then Lai asks Edwin "Don't pretend you don't know where Ellen is, Did you kill him". Now this makes things interesting bc what if Edwin was lying this whole time? (Also Lai is a pretty smart character for being able to think outside the box one could say...)
