I agree with you, I don’t really like that twist
And most of romance readers always focus on whether the fl will end up with the handsome man of the story and that’s it. Even if she lost a position or reputation in the process, it’s always considered secondary.
I thought at first that Navier’s remariage (in the premise) was a pretty badass move but when we think about it, she will still not own her power. And now it’s even worse since her current and future actions are revealed as part of the duke’s plan ╥﹏╥
Possible spoilers?
Ok so I see some people in the comments saying that they're fine with the duke because his plan will lead to Navier marrying Heinley quicker and easier, and that's totally fine if that's their opinion but tbh I think that he's in the wrong for trying to do any of that. He's literally telling trashta that she needs to find a way to become the empress which will take overthrowing Navier in order to happen. Not just that, but Navier doesn't know anything about this plan and it'll now interrupt and prevent her from performing her duties. We have seen how much she cares for her kingdom and how she's the only one out of her and sovieshit that really put effort into their jobs. So ultimately the duke is negatively affecting her and I just think that sucks.
