I would be totally wrong but I think when the kind giant dude said “you aren’t who I am looking for” when he first meet the MC- he meant that he wasn’t the shadow monarch that the crazy angel dude was trying to bring alive again. I believe that all of this stuff happened before hand yet it ended so horribly that someone went back in time to change the end. In order to change it, they have to kill the MC. I think that’s also his father’s goal. However, since somewhat the MC didn’t get the mind of the shadow lord- things are kind of messy. I think in the original time plot- the shadow lord guy did trust the giant king which also helped or progressed the bad ended? So, I think MC really needs to be careful on who he trust so the ending doesn't repeat. I could be wrong I’m just guessing. I haven’t read the novel because I don’t want to spoil myself :)
