I read something similar. It's not kindergarten but Grade school like grade 5. At night rhe kid spirit will transfer to his actual normal body of teenage, black hair and different personality. He can't grow up because not much love given to him.

i read a yaoi manga a long time ago that forever has stuck in my mind the concept of the story was so amazing it stayed forever logged in my brain.
(i cant remember precisely the story but i have bits and pieces)
the story is about a Teacher who get hired to teach a Kindergarten class in his class he has a child that has had many problems in socializing so his actual age( is truly lets say 18) but he looks like a kindergartner in body and mind because he has never really been socialized correctly. cant remember correctly if that is how it goes
anyway,
but the teacher gets attached to this innocent child and the child likes him but he soon starts to figure out that he is more in Love with the teacher.So because of this his love makes this child begin to mature not just mentally but physically, taking up slowly his true size. because of his will to love and protect the teacher he grows everyday at a fast rate. The teacher begins to love him too as he grows. Soon the kid is able to leave that class and go to actual highschool but as a happy ending goes they visit each other often. its a really nice story
what i found amazing is that his current older self has a different set of personality then his young child self.
The drawing is very similar to Love Neko I believe. Don't trust me on this. For some reason i thought it was the same author but i keep looking and its not maybe it was a collab with another artist that draws similar to this author. i wish i looked at the name more closely. ITS BEEN a long time since i read it. if anyone can help me find it it would be amazing !!!
