When the MC rejects a confession because-

the person was originally straight

they believe that the other person would be happier with a woman

being in a same-sex relationship is seen as a bad thing

they feel insecure about partner's fidelity and afraid of losing their interest

they believe that they are not good enough for the partner (and could do better)
