5/5 -- read the novel -- like a lot of people, ever since i read the novel two years ago its been a downward spiral of going through the donghua, manhua, live action drama, fanfics, and twitt fandom -- this really is a whole world with complex narratives for legit each and every character -- keep in mind the implied premise that "rumors can't be believed at face value" (and how wwx is an unreliable narrator) and you will get a LOT more out of the story and all the characters
