May include any genre.  Tales here may (or may not) be included on other lists by genre as well  A "friend that is closer than a brother" does not mean 'so close as to be a lover' and I was pleased to discover this was the case with some Ai manga as well.  Some is clearly, merely, an especially close friendship and some is left up to the reader to choose.  I like the first best, but there are some good stories of the latter sort too.  [#*] = Personal favorite
