Evienrose Chloelle Hadelamid (seventh princess of the Hadelamid Empire) is sent back in time by the Sage of the Forest and Mikaelis Agnito (King of the Homunculi). Travelling back into the past and reliving life again, Eve decides to change the future of the empire and to fight for the position of Crown Princess in order to instil equality for the homunculi by appointing Mikaelis as her personal knight. Together, the two set off on an arduous journey to inherit the throne.

Dahlia Pesteroz (a reincarnated soul), sister of Hikan Pesteroz (the OG "villain" and strongest transcendent), becomes the key figure of obsession for several transcendent figures due to her ability to calm their corruption: Aceras (pope of the Holy Empire), Duke Meldon Artus (one of the four founding families), Duke Lewein Blueport (one of the four founding families and son of Duchess Blueport, mother figure to Dahlia), Prince Cederic (second prince of the Empire), and the Emperor.
