I love smutty, lovey dovey, or dark BLs. But frankly, I really appreciate BLs where the plot is legit strong, there are no clichés, or the clichés are combined cleverly/ not used heavily.
two types of stories are here: - you read it for the plot - you read it ALSO for the plot (there might be good smut or amazing art or cuteness or whatever the reader might appreciate besides the interesting plot)
An unusually plot-centric BL perfectly mixed with characters moments. I really love the thriller aspect and the police procedural drama approach. The story is centered around an investigation of animal serial killings / catching a psycho. Thus, the small cute moments are intended to alleviate the dark atmosphere and to make the story a tad bit lighter.
