there's a lot of human suffering featured in this story which can make it feel bleak. Often I can't easily get through works like this but the two parallel father - son storylines where they're both working towards finding each other is really interesting and had me hooked. Historical action, quite gory but a good read.

(implied) A simple historical romance, well written. Badass female protagonist and I personally don't hate how her character changes later on as there was proper emotional weight given to her decisions (Gotta be vague here to avoid a spoiler). Has a constant air of anxiety throughout the story in a way that makes it hard to put down.

This is just downright adorable. I think the author must own a cat because the cat behaviour and reactions in this story all feel so real. Hits you right where the feels are

the world building is quite special and makes things really interesting. I love all of the different character designs playing off all different types of bugs, not to mention how colourful the art is (just a note though; has some fanservice shots for sure). Good pacing on the increase of strength too.

Overpowered protagonist, magic school and a tragic past. All staples of this genre, done well.
