I think the main objective here is to potray the teamy undertone of men with crushes? They're this really specific nuance in manga and webtoon, they pine so hard and beg...? but without blatantly letting their love interest [often straight] know, lmao it's really gritty imo and they usually carry this tense and quite obsession that's quite cool.
