This list has manga that have power bottoms, or confident men that take charge that are receptive in bed, subverting tropes. Some are dark, I include TRIGGERS "Power" also applies to relationship dynamics. The manga listed will have bottoms with power in the bedroom and out, whether it means the bottoms have a higher paying job/position, or control over the top's mind/actions.Dark and fluffy manga listed throughout. You may feel your favorite manga should be gathered together into distinct categories for your own reference and, now, you can do this with a LIST. After you've created your list or lists, you can proudly recommend them to other manga fans to showcase and share your taste in manga.
I will also be adding new trigger warnings such as: Takes place in a high school setting/does not take place in an university setting past sexual assault with outside characters (there were a few stories I recall where characters remembered poor past sexual encounters)
And I will be rereading because I do recall more stories having a possessive bottom/uke/Shou/passivo on this list than I have tagged.
Hey! Although I've made sure to include triggers for certain works, when I have time I will reread stories on the list to make sure my tags are accurate. For example there was a story off this list I reread and I realized it had briefly (one page) shown content that I hadn't included that in the warning (probably because I missed it the first time reading) and had went to fix it. To err on the side of caution, I will be going over my works to avoid triggering anybody. Feel free to alert me of anything that can do be considered triggering content that my list hadn't accounted for, it's best for people to be prepared!
Also as another disclaimer I can vouch that roles in a relationship are not as set as they are often portrayed in manga, especially yaoi. HOWEVER. I do find powerbottoms hot so!
As the Creator of this list (there's not enough characters when writing a description), I do feel like there are more things i have to clarify. Some of the lighter or fluffier stories (as of now) are listed in pages 5-8, while some of the darkest stories on this list (with the craziest or obsessed characters or messed up dynamics) are listed on pages 1-4. To clarify what I mean by "darkest" stories, I mean stories where there is sensitive or even triggering (meaning upsetting) content within. This can range from content featuring rape, dubious consent (which is when it's unclear about whether one party fully consents or does not to a sexual act- which comes in it's own range of slight dubious consent to extreme dubious consent, and can also be used to apply between sex partners who are drunk and technically can't consent fully), to mentions of suicide or suicidal ideation. Dark content can also typically refer to gore/murder, although I've found that on this list, these two haven't really shown up in the stories I've listed here, although murder may eventually happen as it's in line with a character being obsessed over the other. With the exception of a few on this list, typically the "dark" stories listed will have the defined bottom/Shóu/uke/receiver/Neko/passive/muerdealmohadas as the AGGRESSOR, meaning that if a story has been listed with a trigger warning between the two main character and the male lead, it will be the character who bottoms who will initiate the dark act. This is intentional seeing as how I did want to focus on the various ways that a man who bottoms can exert power over his partner, and how this may extend into a darker realm of things. This is why I've added yandere , manipulative, deceptive, two-faced, cruel/harsh bottoms as well since there is an element of power they're influencing over their partners, whether that means keeping others away from their partner (I'm their obsession), lying to them to keep them or keep control of them, and playing them to get what they want. Power imbalances come into play as well, as some of the powerbottoms on this list as mentioned in my description will have an advantage over their partner outside of the bedroom as well, whether that means some may have jobs or positions with more power or influence (for example, being their top's supervisor, or CEO, or a gang leader, or someone woth seniority/authority). However power can also extend in the physical realm as well: there are some stories where the powerbottom is simply stronger or intimidating to their partner, and that allows them to get away with what they want.
