After transmigrating into the body of an ill princess, she goes a campaign to win second male lead. So off she goes to the great white north to convince the lord of the land she can make him happy. Still wallowing in the events of the coup d'é·tat and letting go of the feelings he had for the heroine, he is resistant, but falls for the princess' persistence. Some revenge shit happens and the spirit is unwilling, but it all works out.
I put this here because it took her so long to come to the logical conclusion, and it even had to be explained to her. I get what she wanted, even though it went against the wishes of the caster, but she never considered the toll, and she was a complete ass to treat that lovely man the way she did for her own delusion. Still it worked out for them in the end and it did possess an overall sweet quality.
In all honesty, it still isn't done. There's no real confession, no saliva swapping, no rumpy-pumpy, no overt affection at all... So complete as it may be, it's not done like a good feast should be. It's not a bad story over all, it's beyond predictable, a few chapters in and you know exactly where it's going and a good sense of how it's going to get there, it's biggest drawback is the ending itself, rather bland for a romance...
Right, so I put this here because it took them a while to stop acting so mindlessly giddy in their own thoughts and act upon their emotions. Now, the level of crazy in the main plot is... wow. Just wow. For once she is the center of the universe and an obsessive stalker made her so... yeah. Just wow.
This is involved, takes a while and isn't exactly pleasant for most of it. They met as children and she saved his life, machinations have them reuniting, but he doesn't recognize her, she can't speak due to a spell, so he treats her very badly. His remorse is tangible when he realizes, but pain needs to be worked through for both parties.
Takes a while. I get why, she's coming into her own after being traumatized most of her life, but there's just so much of it. Every time you turn around, it's a drama or a rape scene, there's a lot if it. It's dark, but a decent read, though for modernity, I suppose there should be a giant red trigger drawn at the top of each page.
Don't get too excited, nothing actually happens between the hero and heroine, at least not yet, just hugging, as in just hugging. She's over powered, sure, but thick as two planks when it comes to her own relationships with people. She was the archmage, so she went full mommy mode and, yea, stayed mommy until the nearly end. It's cute, overall, something for the kids.
