ngl. i only read the novel. but i have to say that this dude is legit textbook "good dude." out of a sense of duty, obligation, and genuine sentiment for the world, he KNOWS the world is not worth saving nor sacrificing himself for, but will continuously do it bc it is the right thing to do and i think it executes his character and motivations rlly well. also he's not a pushover but not pushy with his morals, so he's pretty chill.
he has morals that are legally reenforced through love, passion, and extremely cruel actions of unprecedented violence.
u know that superman trope where u have excessive amounts of strength and u constantly save the world, but eventually w that strength society starts to feel entitled to your help in a certain way? he's like that. the world feels ungrateful and treats you as separate from the very same society you do the most for, but you still do it w/o expectations from them. he does save the world for his mom and mom only, which is valid, but he saves them w the belief they dont owe him anything.
1. pretty art which is like a bribery for me to put anything on a list.
2. it's interesting to see the general ethical perspective of a mythical creature who's seen humanity throughout the years, and realizes its "best" is basically a underdeveloped horror that can impose suffering onto their general populations and other feeling beings. yet MC can't just not extend kindness to those who don't deserve suffering, and is gentle to those she may not sympathize with.
