FOREVER A FAVOURITE. I have reread this several times. It is a very long slow burn which not everyone likes, but all the side couples are fleshed out too without taking away from the main storyline which is rare. The characters are developed rather well and despite personally not liking a misunderstanding trope, it does add to it (to some degree). It also just feels a lot more real, and plausible in a way? Which makes it better, because things resonate with me more and end with me crying <3
I BEG YOU TO GIVE THIS A CHANCE. I went into it with a expectation of a comedic type thing BUT ITS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT. All the characters and relationships between them, and the way the story is carried out. It just makes me feel so much and all the little things that happen and small details and chapters just pull at your heartstrings. Its amazing.
No because half the time enemies to lovers is so rushed or they just get drunk and have sex. And I’m not gonna say this has an award winning plot but the pacing is really good compared to its counterparts out there. The characters suit each other really well and the dynamic works too. And despite it being frustrating at the “disregardment” of the relationship (makes sense if you read it ig) the way their relationship developed and the characters themselves is really what makes
The art style is questionable at first (though it improves a lot throughout) BUT THE CHARACTERS AND PLOT are really what puts this story on top. And despite the chapters sometimes focussing really heavily on one couple and not having a solid plot at the start, the chapters where small snippets of a proper storyline are incorporated and we get to delve deeper into the relationships between the characters and their feelings are mainly the reason it’s on this list imo. One of my favourites
