BL is a really interesting genre that allows itself to break the boundaries from a preconceived notion that BL=romance genre. Every BL includes boyxboy, not every BL includes genuine and/or healthy romance.
These stories are typically horror aligned. It can range from gaslighting to rape to flat out torture.
I don't condone the abuse/rape/etc that happens in these stories. Be critical of the media you consume.
