mc is a super manipulative guy who's honestly kind of scummy. he's extremely intelligent, so he makes himself into a saint-like character, even making the ml regressor believe in him. he's genuinely super fucking cunning. i recommend reading the novel. not to spoil, but mc is a man who has even tricked the gods. key difference in this manhwa is he's intentionally making everyone think he's amazing, no coincidences here

mc gets isekai'ed into his own story. it's not super focused on it to me, but ppl misunderstand mc for doing selfless acts when he's actually trying to save his ass and make it through the story to get back to his world. (eg. mc beats the ml and ml thinks mc is like him, op but kind of lonely.) they think he’s a tragic orphan who’s trying to avenge his parents lolol

a giant in the male action manhwa genre. genuinely surprised if you haven't read or know of this one yet. while it's not as focused in the way i like, people misunderstand mc to be a hero and someone very kind and intelligent. mc is lazy and wants to have a smooth life, so he does everything to continue his "smooth" life, even if it means hurting himself. i love cale he's a top tier mc
- comedy action, villain mc, bullshitting powers +100
LMFAO okay i LOVE this manhwa it's so fucking funny. mc is a third-tier villain who acts strong and has crazy pain tolerance. he keeps accidentally saving people and making everyone think he's some op tragic swordsman who's lost everything but still remains strong. he picks up the strongest hero + the demon lord along the way as his family even tho he fucking hates them LOL? also he's mysterious af bc of his old jobs idk
- SUPER GOOD! slow updates though
mc reincarnated into villainess and has to adapt to a family that is evil. she is very smart and strong, however she's bluffing/pretending to be as calculating and evil as everyone thinks she is. she wants to survive, not knowing everyone thinks she's beyond all expectations and the perfect villainess. also mc def has a loose screw or two bc how tf do you torture a guy who looks like your crush and only feel kind of bad

mc is a normal guy who loves books a little too much, so he essentially sells his soul to be able to own every book n knowledge in the world. he doesn’t know that his books aren’t “normal” to other people (he got isekai’d to a different world but is seemingly unaware of this). everybody thinks he’s a god/inhuman/omniscient and it’s hilarious to see them misunderstand him

Technically Overlord, it’s really famous but it does fall into this trope. He’s OP but his actual personality is weak-minded and human-like.
There all these eleborate plans but he doesn’t really understand them but always manages to make everything work as if he planned them from the start.

I think "Binbou Reijou no Kanchigai Seijo Den" would fit this list, everyone thinks the fl is a saint but most of her actions are out of self-interest (e.g. she gives the villagers healing medicine bc if they stay healthy, they can continue paying taxes)
you don’t have weak hero on here, right? i think gray is a good contender! he’s great at winning fights because he’s really crafty/intelligent, but physically super weak and delicate-looking so people (especially in the beginning, when he hadn’t built up a reputation yet) would doubt his capabilities and keep challenging him.
he 100% warrants his reputation of being ruthless and scary, but i really love the sheer disparity between that intimidating reputation vs. how small and effeminate he is <3
