sooo I have come to the realisation that there's a bunch of works of art and fiction that reference the apparently iconic story Night on the Galactic Railroad by Miyazawa Kenji.
Since this is for manga, I would like you to check out the song Stella by Kashiwa Daisuke, which is also inspired by the story.

this josei melodrama romance masterpiece comes to mind first. Honestly such a good read I can't even. Maybe the straights do deserve rights idfk. A woman in her 30s goes on a trip and ends up pretending to be married to grab the interest of a handsome man she met on the plane. However he's in on the "affair" for his own reasons. Super romantic and it poses many questions about modern day marriage, tradition, love and fidelity.
