Should you read the novel instead

PLOT: MC is transported to another world and has to save it. The story focuses more on the journey and world than romance. The world building is really interesting. I love the creepy description of monsters in the novel.

Comparing to the novel the manhwa has weird pacing. Some parts of the story are shorter than necessary, other parts much longer than I expected. I enjoyed both novel and comic.

I recommend you read the novel instead/first.

A MUST READ. If you haven't read any danmei in a historical setting, this series will definitely get you into it. The Light Novel is a bit complicated to understand at first. (it's translated from Chinese) If your looking for the story definitely read the novel. The comic has more focused on the art, story is at times simplified.
