In my opinion, this story feels similar to Trash of the Count's Family.
It's got the whole ORV vibe going on, but I'd argue that this is a good standalone series.
The protag and his companions are competent.
I really like how the story builds up the protag's character; he is aligned between true neutral and neutral good.
