ironic given how he's technically the only existing character from earth in his dimension of the labyrinth, being on solo-leveling.
i'm not kidding when i said i thought this was gonna be cringe. but tbh im up to date bc i got nothing else to read and like, it's WAYYY better than i gave it credit for. (1) ALL the characters are amazingly well-orientated once it settles that these are kid soldiers and there's a large war, not against just dragons, but humanity. and you see how that impacts all characters as they try and work towards their goals. also i LOVE dmitry.
no you'd be surprised how many platonic and familial relationships exist in this plot, specifically due to the fact that there's tammy's current life as rhian and tammy's old life, and they both come into importance to her personality today and how she reacts. also there's like an unexpected amount of violence that DOES play into how she makes friends. like i stg she beat up half of them lol
lowkey yeah. like. miss girl really does subvert every fucking stupid ass dude out there, and in a way through her ability to make friends with one of them while setting straight boundaries and not at all accepting or justifying his sexism/misogyny of his time period, reveals the complicated reality of just being human in society. MC's friendships deal with classism, sexism, and even lgbtq+ themes.
:)
nah dude girl is ready to put a chair through someone's head.
ALL platonic, no romance, and it's so like. great?? like idk mc is definitely traumatized by the concept of mutual relationships and i think that's really funny especially when he deals with a couple of the characters who are absolutely not normal and have zero respect for boundaries or even for him really (ie: the guy who keeps talking about being the MC, the extra obsessed with him who's super rich and honestly an asshole)
it's great because there's definitely a moral undertone of unlearning classism and appreciating the underclass and learning individuals are more important than the workings of himself, but his absolute inability to properly understand interpersonal relationships and the repercussions of them being disabled by everyone else being good people is so funny to watch.
violence surpasses the physics of furry suits due to the nature of friendship.
