Tbh I had rated it 4 stars, but looking back I don't think I've followed a romfantasy this consistently like I did with this one before. It could be because the art is nothing short of amazing (like genuinely the best I've seen for this genre, it's not just pretty but expressive and actually reminiscent of the historical period it depicts), but the characters themselves make you want to keep on following their story. It's a slice of life with underlying dark tones.
This is addictive?? A daunting, immaculate, toxic and sexy slow-burn. It’s got a vampire ML — starts with him blackmailing FL, then becomes this whole chaotic game between them to see who has the upper hand.
Translation is a bit lacking though, if people know a bit of Korean they should compensate with the raws.
Enemies to lovers ? Nahh enemies AND lovers
It stopped being translated but I couldn't stop thinking about it so I read the raws and even though it made me grind with papago for some words, it was WORTH IT. shit's fire it's a very engaging and well-written story with fleshed-out and three-dimensional characters. The drama doesn't come out of nowhere, it's properly built up so you don't feel frustrated when hell breaks loose. And
author writes the dark/creepy atmosphere in a superb way.
To read on webtoon bc translation here is confusing. It can seem like a typical level up manhwa at first, and it has its ups and downs, but it gets better and better as chapters go by. Mc has a cheat system but he puts in so much hardwork it doesn't even feel like cheat but simply deserved rewards for his mad efforts. He doesn't hog everything despite knowing the future, there are some great ass friendships and rivalries, plus the main ship is unexpectedly good. Agreeably surprised.
