Your honor, this is the most realistic depiction of an abused mc in a shoujo historical I've seen in a hot minute. The mc has basically been abused her whole life by EVERYONE and then gets married off to a stranger. OBVIOUSLY she has major self-esteem issues and ptsd/trauma and it shows.
Her slow growth is realistic to me because she isn't a #girlboss instantly
