They help others, whether to their benefit or detriment...

I tried to find manga in which the main characters deal with the supernatural (or else are just supernatural beings themselves) in a sorta episodic way

this means that many of the stories here will have a "monster of the week" setup, but many will also have an overarching storyline!

anyways this list isnt super well defined, so it will be pretty diverse in terms of genre, mood, etc.
