It has been 5 years since I made this list. I come back once in a while to reminiscent of all the late nights spent figuring out my sexuality and the definition of love itself. It was as painful and cringey as it was beautiful and precious. Yuri played a huge role in allowing me to explore different possibilities in the theatre of my imagination. I come back 5 years later to occasionally edit this list in hopes that I can help others who are going through the same journey I did.
Genre(s): Webtoons / Shoujo ai / Drama / Historical / Psychological
One-sided love between a resentful servant from an oppressed racial minority background and a duke's daughter who has a terminal illness. The massive power imbalance and their rocky history lead the servant to deny her love for her master. Actions done in the name of love can be coercive, selfish, and sometimes even immoral but nevertheless, love is the most beautiful thing in our finite existence. 100/10
Genre(s): Comedy / Drama / Romance / School Life / Shoujo Ai / Slice Of Life / Webtoons
If you are like me, someone who spent all her time in highschool grinding :( and really no time gRinDinG ;) then this is for you. Jokes, there is no sex in here. Although I think I made the right choice working hard, sometimes I wonder if I missed out on highschool romance. Yes, it is silly and cringey but it is also a really delicate and sweet experience. This manga gave me all the angsty butterfly feels of a highschool romance but none of the real-life commitment.
You may feel your favorite manga should be gathered together into distinct categories for your own reference and, now, you can do this with a LIST. After you've created your list or lists, you can proudly recommend them to other manga fans to showcase and share your taste in manga.
I think it is critical for queer people to be in solidarity with the people of occupied Palestine and all land sovereignty movements around the world. Colonization and imperialism has played a huge role in erasing queer and gender queer histories and ways of existing. I am not saying that a queer utopia has ever existed but systems of oppressions all intertwine and restrict our sense of what is possible. Liberation is possible. Liberation is for all. It's okay to feel afraid and weak in the face of historical and systemic injustice. Let's all start small and do our best! Even reading and distributing manga is a form of resistance to show that queer BIPOC people exist. And existence in the face of violent erasure is resistance. I hope you share and recieve an act of care today!
I just finished reading Relationship Guidelines two days ago, and I SO DAMN LOVED your review to a T!!! You took the words out of my mouth and heart. Those were the exact feelings I had after reading the manhwa. So, thank you!!! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Getting to Know Grace is a psychological/historical yuri masterpiece imo, Vengeance (written by same author as On A Leash), Gunjou is an amazing psychological even outside of the yuri genre (netflix made a movie based on it recently), For Garbage and Kill Me Know are on-going ones that are quite popular so you may have heard of them. Those are a few off the top of my head. Let me know if there are more specific plot lines you would like to find!

Do you have recommendations like On a leash or Opium? More on psychological, historical, or dystopian setting?
