How can this list ever be complete without MDZS? The artstyle is beautiful, the characters are complex and the plot is great. But most importantly, the romance between the two main characters transcends anything I've seen.
The exploration of the romance is well done. While the manhua doesn't shy away from outright, unequivocal signs of affection, the beautiful part about this is in the subtlety. The smallest expressions of love, the happiness, the heartache- absolute perfection.
The prequel to Form of Sympathy. Idiot who despises one sided crushes falls for idiot crushing on his junior at school. A healthier, slower development compared to its counterpart, and is quite a sweet read. Of course, I still prefer Form of Sympathy to this, which has more flawed, complex character arcs
Even so, I love the characters just as much here, the author has a talent for showcasing depth in regular, people-you-meet-everyday kind of characters.
Well that was a wild ride. It took a while to get used to the artstyle, but it's also really amazing to see the artist's growth throughout the journey.
It's got plenty of pain, more pain than heartwarming moments. But it's a beautiful piece of work and I definitely recommend. 9/10.
