In some way the main character gets put into the body of an animal and it plays a key part in the story. They are either stuck as that animal or can switch between human and animal.
(This list might be slightly biased to comics and manga styles I prefer, but I do try to avoid that. I would love any suggestions for comics and manga that would fit this category.)
