It’s good for the first half but the ML is so frustrating that the plot feels like it’s going in circles with little development. It’s a long ride where you lose out as much as you gain.

If you don’t know this series you’ve been living under a rock. It’s a good story with good characters and the romance, the bond between the main characters, supplements the plot but doesn’t overshadow it. It’s the only version of the story outside the actual novel that actually portrays some of the romance (and has far less exhausting exposition).
Thank god they gave this series absolutely gorgeous art that suits the mystic and mythical nature of the plot, alternating between the sinister and the divine.

I genuinely want to smack the MC for his dedication to the original novel and the way he keeps trying to hook up ML with the FLs and remaining blind to the fact that he doesn’t care about them and is absolutely whipped for MC. The joy once everything falls into place is worth it though imo
