“Contract engagement to escape my horrible fate” trope but well executed in a way that doesn’t feel particularly rushed, is funny without losing gravity, and is interesting because of the characters rather than the circumstances. It also has an anime!
Plot Attachment: Hmmmmm she’s pretty hung up on the book’s romance but gets over it. The rest is a spoiler.
“Let’s stop the horrible future from unfolding!” trope. Somehow MC managed to transmigrate into the most useful useless body.
Plot Attachment: She wants the plot to not happen and the characters to stay alive—it’s a reference.
Honestly expected more TL but she IS very young and the ML(?) is also rather old.
I genuinely forget, but I remember her being a young side-character.
“Young daughter of a tyrant” trope in which the father is actively hostile and not just intimidating. The tension between MC and her father and the terror she feels is done really well. Getting him to warm up to her takes considerable time and effort.
**I warn you, there’s a massive amnesia plot line.
Plot Attachment: Yes, but it’s more for survival than anything. Occasionally illogical but understandably so.
Cute. Funny. Cute.
Plot Attachment: She’s a little hung up on the romance but she starts things off with a drunk one night stand with OG ML—it’s an exercise in futility.
“Becoming a tyrannical villainess and having to pick up the pieces” trope.
Plot Attachment: It’s a damn good thing she’s read it more than once or she would not survive without it.
When you stan the MC so hard you become a sasaeng (ok not that bad) when you accidentally fall into the book world and work your way into becoming his step-mother. This is some next level dedication to a fictional character (or not anymore).
THIS my friends is how you do the “I reincarnated as a villainess” trope, I can’t imagine what she had to endure, what she had to do just to continue to survive being born into one of the worst possible situations in the book world. This girl is strong and smart and gorgeous and I honestly just want her to be happy.
Second male-lead syndrome but literally fixing it by becoming the protagonist. No idea why the ML is so down with the fact that they’re not the same person but she does treat him with the kindness he deserved from the original.
