There are basically three original plots which are changing with time. 1. Black sun wants and ares want to have Alicia married to ares. 2. Kai needs to break free from Edith and Edith’s dad who essentially forced Kai to learn outdated things and become the bad empires he was in the original story. 3 Alicia also wants to live in obscurity as not be involved with Kai or ares
At first, Alicia thought she could get Lancelot to help her just abandon Kai and leave the blitz empire, but she accidentally got stuck with ares. Then she decides to use her knowledge of blacksmithing to gain independence and wealth on her own through black sun to have enough financial capability to leave the empire if and when she needed, but along the way keeps getting involved with the other two plots. At the middle of the recent season, She kinda starts feeling guilty for Kai because she uncovered that he was being purposefully mislead by his tutors and teachers to become a bad emperor so that the right to rule would go back to Edith and her dad. I think Alicia is still working on here space route but she started to factor Kai in as well. Then at the end of the season, there’s the whole thing about how kai’s position as guardian, the person who decides what Kai can learn, is about to be vacant, and although Alicia realizes she could use that position to change her fate by freeing Kai, she’s barred from it for not having noble standing. BUT THEN ARES IS LIKE, HEY HONEY JUST MARRY ME WE ALREADY FUCKED ;) but Kai doesn’t know anything about this and just thinks his hero is settling for his gross sister because like. Kai and Alicia have a realistic sibling relationship. She gives him a non answer and the decision about kais guardian isn’t decided, but I think regardless. They need support from/info on the nobility to make any further moves, so they want to hold a ball to gather a lot of nobles who apparently are hungry for a social event after 2 years of being at war. ALICIA wants to hold the ball so she has control. But they need a good excuse to be wasteful, so they came up with it being essentially a charity event for people in a poor religion.
This was actually such a helpful summary. I feel like I got lost along the way because the comedy balance is a bit off to me and they throw in too many gags, so when they cram a whole chapter full of plot in, it really throws me for a loop lol. Thank you for taking the time to explain!!
